These works are inspired by the abundant variety of native British wildlife. Having worked with flora and fauna withinthe British landscape prior to welcoming these celebratory commissions, it has been a sheer delight to explore these themes to a greater intensity. I looked to 20th century artist Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe (OBE RA) for initial inspiration, wrapping similar themes around an impression of pattern and motif, whilst retaining a strong individual style. I have based each title upon the collective noun in accordance to the genus of bird. The descriptive expressions facilitate an understanding to the nature of each bird and their unique character.
I wished to capture a fleeting moment within each artwork, illuminating and discovering the wonders of Mother Nature. I hope that as a voyager and onlooker you will experience thesheer delight of these captured moments.
